Camera and barcode scanners

Scan with the phone camera, a Bluetooth or USB scanner, or a rugged handheld.

Phone or tablet camera

Tap 📷 Scan with camera. Allow camera access the first time.

Bluetooth or USB scanner

Any scanner that works as a keyboard (HID mode) works — for example the NETUM NT-1228BC.

  1. Put the scanner in Bluetooth keyboard (HID) mode using the setup barcodes in its manual.
  2. Pair it in the phone’s, tablet’s or PC’s Bluetooth settings (USB scanners just plug in).
  3. In the getstoqd app, open ⚙︎ Settings → Scanner test and scan anything. The exact characters received appear there.

Once getstoqd sees a scanner being used, the app shows 🔫 Barcode scanner connected, and Hub admin and Cloud show which devices have used a scanner.

Wrong characters?

The scanner’s keyboard language doesn’t match the device. Set the scanner to US English (or your device’s layout) with its setup barcodes.

Rugged handhelds

Zebra, Honeywell and similar Android handhelds with a built-in scanner run the app directly — set their scanner to type into apps (keyboard output).
