The Hub
Backups and restoring
Nightly automatic backups, backing up now, choosing a safe folder and restoring.
Open Hub admin → Backups (or Backups… in the menu-bar / tray icon).
- The hub makes one automatic backup a day while it’s running and keeps the number you choose.
- Back up now makes a manual backup, kept until you delete it.
- Backup settings: pick a folder off this PC’s main drive if you can — a USB drive, or a OneDrive, Dropbox or iCloud Drive folder — so backups survive if the PC fails.
Restoring
Restoring replaces all current inventory, so click Back up now first. Hub admin → Backups shows these steps with your exact folders and Open data folder / Open backups folder buttons:
- Quit the hub: menu-bar / tray icon → Quit getstoqd Hub. Phones and tablets keep new scans and sync later.
- In the hub data folder, rename
inventory.dbtoinventory-before-restore.db, and deleteinventory.db-walandinventory.db-shmif they’re there. - Copy the backup you want from the backups folder into the data folder and rename it
inventory.db. - Start the hub again and check the Stock tab.
Your license isn’t affected by restoring.
On one phone or tablet with Standalone Pro, see Using getstoqd on one device.
