Privacy Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
This policy explains what information Automated Tek, LLC, doing business as getstoqd (“we”, “us”) collects when you use getstoqd — the website at getstoqd.com, the getstoqd hub software, the getstoqd scanner apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and macOS, and getstoqd Cloud (together, the “Service”) — and how we use it.
The short version
- With the hub or standalone mode, your inventory data stays with you. Items, counts, scans, prices and suppliers stay on your own PC and devices. The one exception is an order you choose to email to a supplier with Send with getstoqd: that order passes through us so it can be delivered (see below).
- With getstoqd Cloud, we store your inventory for you — that’s the service — and use it only to run Cloud for your business.
- For licenses we keep only what’s needed to sell and verify them: your business name, email, and a code that identifies the PC your license is on — plus your details if you sign up for launch updates.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
- No advertising, no tracking across other sites or apps, and we never sell your information. The website counts visits anonymously, without cookies, to see which pages are used.
Information we collect
When you buy a license
- Business name and email address, which you enter at checkout.
- Payment details — card and billing address — are collected and processed by Stripe, our payment provider and merchant of record. We receive confirmation of payment, not your card number.
- License details: your license ID, purchase date, and a Machine ID for the PC running your hub. The Machine ID is a short code created by a one-way calculation from your PC’s hardware identifier; it can’t be reversed to reveal that identifier or who you are.
- License history: dates your license was activated, moved, or deactivated.
When your hub checks in
About once a month, the hub software sends your license ID and Machine ID to getstoqd.com to confirm the license is still valid. Like any internet request, this includes your network’s IP address.
When you add a new item (product lookup)
To save typing, when you scan a new barcode the app or hub can look up that barcode in free public product databases — Open Food Facts (and its sister Open Products Facts) and UPCitemdb — to fill in the product’s name and category. Only the barcode number is sent, directly from your device or hub to those services; nothing about your business, quantities or prices, and nothing passes through getstoqd.com. As with any internet request, those services see your network’s IP address. You can turn this off in the app under Settings → Look up new barcodes online.
When you use getstoqd Cloud
Cloud keeps your business’s inventory on our servers so every device can reach it from anywhere. To do that we store:
- Your sign-in: your email address, and the time you last signed in.
- Your business: its name, locations, plan and subscription status, and the people on your team (their email addresses and roles).
- Devices: the name and area you give each phone or tablet, and when it last connected.
- Inventory data: items (names, barcodes, quantities, par levels, units, storage areas, suppliers, supplier item numbers and costs), every scan (what, how many, when, and which device and person made it), unknown barcodes, and backup snapshots.
- Orders and suppliers: the orders you place (number, supplier, items and amounts, when and how each was sent, who placed it, and what has been delivered), and the supplier contact details you enter (name, email and CC addresses, contact name, phone number, your account number with them, and order notes).
- Order email settings: the business name and reply-to email on your orders and, if you send from your own email account, its server, username and password. The password is stored encrypted and used only to send your orders.
- Subscription payments are handled by Stripe (see below); we receive the plan and payment status, not your card number.
We use Cloud data only to provide Cloud to your business — showing it to the people on your team, keeping devices in sync, backups, support you ask for, and billing. We don’t look at it for any other purpose, use it for advertising, or sell it. Each business’s data is separated by access rules in the database: people only see the businesses they belong to, and staff can’t change items or the team.
When you send an order to a supplier
The Order list can email an order to your supplier. What’s sent is the order itself: your business name and reply-to email, the supplier’s email (and any CC), the contact name, your account number with them, the delivery date and note you add, and the items and amounts. How it travels depends on the option you choose:
- Send with getstoqd: the order goes from your hub or app to getstoqd.com, and our email provider (Resend) delivers it from orders@getstoqd.com with your email as the reply-to address. We don’t keep a copy of the email; we keep only a count of orders sent (date and number of recipients) to prevent misuse.
- Send from my own email: on a hub, the hub PC sends it straight through your email provider — it doesn’t pass through us. On Cloud, our server sends it through your email provider using the settings you saved.
- Open in Mail app: your phone’s own email app sends it; we aren’t involved.
Your suppliers’ contact details are used only to send the orders you choose to send.
In-app purchases (Standalone Pro)
Standalone Pro is bought through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, which process the payment under their own privacy policies. We don’t receive your payment details; the app checks with Apple or Google on your device whether Standalone Pro is unlocked. If you ask for the Hub credit, you email us your purchase reference.
Backups in standalone mode
Standalone Pro saves backup files on your device (in the Files app on iPhone and iPad, or the Documents folder on Android). They stay on your device and in your own device backups; they aren’t sent to us.
When you sign in
On the website (My license and Cloud) and in the app (Cloud), we use your email address to send a one-time sign-in code or link. The website sets a cookie that keeps you signed in; it’s the only cookie we use, and it’s required for signing in.
When you visit the website
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views on getstoqd.com: which page was viewed, the page that sent you, and your country, browser, operating system and device type. It uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you — visits are counted with a short-lived anonymous code that resets every day, and nothing is used to follow you to other sites or for advertising. The getstoqd apps and the Hub don’t include any analytics.
When you sign up for launch updates or the Cloud waitlist
We store the email address you give us and, if you choose to share them, your business name, type of business, number of locations and the plan you’re interested in. We use this only to tell you when getstoqd (or getstoqd Cloud) is available and to plan the launch. Ask us at any time to remove you from the list.
When you contact us
We keep the emails you send to support so we can help you.
Website and server logs
Our hosting providers automatically log basic request information (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the Service secure and running.
Information we don’t collect
- Inventory data from the hub or standalone mode: items, quantities, scans, prices, suppliers, order lists and spreadsheets stay on your hub PC and devices. They are not sent to us — apart from an order you choose to email with Send with getstoqd, which passes through us only to be delivered. (Cloud is the only way inventory is stored on our servers.)
- The scanner apps use the camera only to read barcodes and the hub’s pairing QR code, on the device — no photos or video are saved or sent. They don’t use your location, contacts or photo library, and don’t include analytics, ads or tracking. They talk to your own hub on your local network, store data on the device in standalone mode, or connect to Cloud if you sign in — plus the optional product lookup above.
How we use information
- To process your purchase and issue, verify, move and deactivate your license.
- To run getstoqd Cloud for your business: storing and syncing your inventory, your team’s access, backups and billing.
- To send sign-in codes and links, receipts and important messages about your license or Cloud account.
- To provide support and prevent fraud or license misuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:
- Stripe — payments, sales tax and fraud prevention. Stripe acts as merchant of record for your purchase, and its privacy policy applies to the payment information it collects.
- Supabase — our database and sign-in system: licenses, the launch list, and all getstoqd Cloud data.
- Resend — sends our emails, such as sign-in links, and the orders you email to suppliers with Send with getstoqd.
- Your suppliers — receive the orders you choose to send them, and your reply-to email address.
- Vercel — hosts the getstoqd.com website.
- Apple and Google — process in-app purchases (Standalone Pro) and deliver the apps.
Within your Cloud business, the people you add (and their roles) can see the business’s inventory and activity.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights and users.
How long we keep it
We keep license records for as long as your license exists, and payment records as long as tax and accounting laws require. We keep Cloud data for as long as the business uses Cloud. If a subscription ends, we keep the business’s data, read-only, so it can be renewed or exported — until the owner deletes it or asks us to. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below). Deleting your license record means it can no longer be verified, moved or recovered.
Deleting your account
You can delete your getstoqd sign-in at any time — in the app under Settings → Delete my account(when signed in to Cloud), or in getstoqd.com/app→ Settings (⚙) → Account & device. This:
- deletes your sign-in and removes you from every Cloud business you belong to;
- for any business where you’re the only owner, deletes that business and all its Cloud data (items, scans, devices, team and backups) and cancels its subscription — so export anything you want to keep first;
- doesn’t affect hub licenses you bought (they’re tied to your purchase, not your sign-in) or data stored on your own devices and PCs.
Deletion is immediate and can’t be undone. Copies in our providers’ encrypted backups expire within their normal backup cycle.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the information we hold about you by emailing support@getstoqd.com. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights under local law; we honor those requests too. We won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored encrypted at rest by our database provider. License records are only reachable from our servers, and Cloud data is protected by per-business access rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
The Service is meant for businesses and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. For significant changes, we’ll email license holders and Cloud account owners.
